Sadales tīkls donates equipment for the restoration of infrastructure in Chernihiv

The full-scale war launched by Russia in Ukraine has been ongoing for more than 1000 days, and help for the Ukrainian defenders is still desperately needed. Continuing its communication with its energy colleagues in Ukraine, AS Sadales tīkls has responded to the request for help by donating power generators, electricity network materials and specialised equipment to be delivered to Chernihiv, which has been destroyed by Russian troops.

Two power generators, 13 units of specialised equipment (forklift truck, tractors, boats and car trailers), as well as about 5400 units of various electrical materials (cables, fuses, insulators, etc.) were sent to the Ukrainian town this week with the help of Ziedot.lv.

“For more than three years now, Ukrainian defenders have been fighting tirelessly against the bloody Russian regime; the least we can do is keep lending a helping hand. We have selected specialised equipment units for donation that are older but in good working order, which have been replaced by multifunctional equipment in our own organisation. We know that similar equipment is also used by electro-specialists in Ukraine so they will be able to put it to use without any delay or special training,” says Sandis Jansons, Chief Executive Officer of Sadales tīkls.

As Russian attacks on critical infrastructure in Ukrainian cities leave large areas without power supply, power generators are essential, especially in winter. However, specialised equipment and various electrical materials are needed to reconstruct the destroyed infrastructure.

In addition, during the patriots’ week in November, employees of Sadales tīkls and Latvenergo were invited to donate for the purchase of drones and equipment for the Ukrainian defenders. Over five days, EUR 7310 was donated, which enabled the purchase of 16 drones and warm clothing, as well as the necessary army equipment for the 12th Special Task Brigade in Azov. The donation was delivered to the brigade by Ivars Kārkliņš, an employee of Sadales tīkls and a home guard.
